We are pleased to share the Q1 FY27 edition of the DMI Household Pulse Survey, our proprietary quarterly study tracking households’ perceptions of economic conditions, income and employment prospects, credit behaviour, and purchase intentions.

The findings indicate a further weakening in household sentiment, reflected more clearly in rising negative assessments of the current economic conditions and the economic outlook for the year ahead. Reported household-income outcomes also weakened. Nevertheless, household income and job/business expectations remained comparatively resilient, while inflation expectations remained elevated but broadly stable.

On the credit side, overall multi-loan exposure moderated, although reported EMI-management conditions weakened. Mobile phones remained the most popular planned electronics purchase category.
